Jet Info Systems Company reports about putting in commercial operation of Automated Information System of Passport and Visa Service of Russia in Moscow (AIS PVS in Moscow). The System was developed by order of Federal Migration Service Administration in Moscow.

The Automated Information System is the hardware-software complex.The system is the common information system consolidating the Administration and the district and regional Departments of Federal Migration Service. It provides data exchange with the law machineries and special services.The system has replaced four previously used obsolete system and has automated data transfer from all 126 territorial subdivisions to the Administration over communications channels.

The system automates work of migration service employees. The system involves all activities of this service including issuance of passports for Russian citizens, international passports, registration of citizenship, putting of foreign citizens on migratory accounting . This system allows effectively gather and process information about the migrants founding at Moscow, issued and lost Russian and international passports, acquired citizenship, confirmed invitations, sojourn permits and residence permits. The system keeps records of administrative breakings of foreign citizens related to migrations (including deportation) as well as legal persons issuing passport-visa documents.

The system is in operation since January, 2007. The following activities have been performed during 5 months of operation:

• 655 217 citizens have been put on migratory accounting
(412 384 ones for the same period of the last year);

• 339 715 work permits have been issued (54 089 ones for the same period of the last year);

• 214 037 work permits have been issued (215423 ones for the same period of the last year );

• 253 990 international passports have been issued (210 881 ones for the same period of the last year) including 7 954 ones with electronic media;

• 7 967 citizens has been accepted into the citizenship of Russia (8 761 ones for the same period of the last year);

• 4 410 sojourn permits have been issued (for the same period of the last year – 2 545 ones).

On 27th June 2007 AIS PVS contains:
• Information about 3 515 978 foreign citizens;
• Information about 18 352 880 Russian citizens.

The system was developed by Jet Info Systems and Public Administration Scientific Production Association «Special Equipment and Communication» of Ministry of the Interior of Russia. The system implementation has been performed by Jet Infosystems Company.

Due to the system for the first time work of the migration service employees has become fully automated. Use of modern information technologies allows to perform many of the service activities paperlessly and simplify procedures for drawing passport visa documents.
