Megratec, Mentor Graphics distributor in Russia, Jet Infosystems, leading Russian systems integrator, Advantage Executive Partner of Sun Microsystems, and NIIR FSUE, one of the leading Russian research centers in communication systems, today announced that they successfully finished test runs of Mentor Graphics products at SunGrid 16-processor system installed earlier this year by Jet Infosystems in NIIR FSUE.

Among other products tested there were Questa AFV functional verification system and Expedition Xtreme PCB. As reported by Megratec, Jet and NIIR FSUE engineers test runs showed on the average 2 to 3 times increase in performance on a 4-node system compared to single-processor operation. The above mentioned test runs were part of a big research program aimed at evaluation of Mentor Graphics design tools to be used in NIIR FSUE design center for design and verification of their modern telecom systems.

“Though there were some problems with installing and configuring Mentor Graphics software on SunGrid system operating under Linux RedHat OS, our application and support engineers quickly resolved these problems and successfully launched evaluation process”, said Andrey Lokhov, Megratec general director. “The results obtained during evaluation were quite impressive and allowed us to demonstrate to NIIR FSUE management and technical team all the advantages of Mentor Graphics solutions which combine deep functionality with efficiency and performance especially when used on modern multiprocessor platforms”.
