History

The company dates back to the spring of 1991, when Eugene Shablygin, a physicist and then head of the RC&C Company, met with the representatives of Sun Microsystems on their first visit to USSR. The UNIX computer line seemed like a promising foundation for the development of complex information systems. It was decided to split communication and IT services. The former remains RC&C, and the latter became Jet Info Systems.

Initially Jet was an abbreviation for Jalyschko Electronics Technology GmbH, which was the name of a company set up by the owners of RC&C in Germany in 1990. After the IT services were reorganized into a new, separate business, the J.E.T. abbreviation became its name. The new company was registered in January 1992 in Russia, and in September of the same year in the USA.

Yet before the company was registered in Russia and USA, two graduates of the Moscow State University's Physics Department- Oleg Molodykh and Vladimir Eliseev - joined Shablygin to set the company going.

1992: The first Sun Microsystems workstations became the core of information systems at a number of laboratories of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna. All the services on deployment and support of the systems had to be provided by the founders of the company themselves, yet by the end of that year the company's personnel increased to 10 employees.

1993: Jet Info Systems entered a new area - support and maintenance of its Clients' information systems.

1994:The company's Service Center became a separate business unit. It now provides its services on a 24x7x365 basis to more than 200 clients in the Russian Federation, from the city of Kaliningrad to the far-off Vladivostok. We also provide the same service to some other countries. As of today, Jet Info Systems Service Center is one of the largest corporate information systems support center in Russia.

1995: Jet received "The most important strategic win for Sun Worldwide" award from Sun Microsytems for the development of a highly reliable data processing infrastructure for the Central Bank of Russia.

1996: Jet Info Systems tapped into the field of information security. In February 2003 the company established an Information Security Center as a separate business unit. Currently, Jet Info Systems is one of the largest information security solution providers in Russia.

Jet Info Systems has accumulated extensive experience of implementing high complexity projects on the deployment of data processing centers, storage systems and networks. The company builds telecommunication networks and wide-area networks (WANs). One of the most important areas of the company's expertise is monitoring and management systems.

Jet Info Systems is the authorized partner of the world-class technology vendors, such as Sun Microsystems, Hitachi Data Systems, Hewlett-Packard, Symantec, Brocade Communications Systems, Nortel Networks, Cisco Systems, BMC Software, Oracle , Check Point Software Technologies and many others.

The company is agressively expanding into regions of Russia and some other Ex-USSR countries. Branch offices were opened in Ekaterinburg, Kazan, Krasnodar, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara and Vladivostok. In 2005 the Ukrainian office opened its doors in Kiev, followed by two more regional offices in 2006, in the city of Almaty, Kazakhstan, and in Baku, Azerbaijan. The company's future plans include opening new regional offices and development of the partner network worldwide.

Since 1995 the company has published a monthly technology magazine, Jet Info (www.jetinfo.ru). The magazine covers the main trends and practical issues in the deployment and maintenance of large information systems.

The quality management system implemented by Jet Info Systems is certified for compliance with ISO 9001:2000 international standard (certificate TUV CERT by the TUV Thuringen e.V. company, audit report number 9282, certificate registration number 75 100 9282, certificate issued 10.04.2003 and reconfirmed 13.04.2006).
